I’ve always loved taking pictures. What started as something I enjoyed as a hobby, eventually became something I wanted to take seriously. I studied photography in college and earned my BFA, and throughout that time I learned that photography is so much more than just taking a good picture.

For me, it’s about noticing the little things.

I’m the kind of person who will stop to take a picture of a flower, an animal, or a random moment that probably wouldn’t mean much to someone else. I like finding the little things that make a moment special that some people might just glaze over. this one of my favorite things about photography. You can be somewhere completely ordinary, and suddenly the light hits something just right, or you notice something you wouldn't have noticed before. Having a camera has made me pay more attention to the world around me and really be in the moments i'm a part of.

I especially love photographing wildlife and nature because you never really know what you're going to get. Animals don't pose for you or wait until you're ready. You have to be patient, pay attention, and sometimes just get lucky. Some of my favorite photographs have come from moments I wasn't expecting. I can sit out in nature for hours and come home with only 3 or so good pictures. wildlife photography is a waiting game.

I also love photographing people and the moments that come with them. Weddings are especially meaningful because there are so many little moments happening throughout the day that the couple doesn't always get to see. A quick look, a laugh, a hug, or a moment with a family member can end up being just as important as the big moments. I really enjoy capturing the raw emotions of people rather then some staged emotions.

I love that photography allows me to preserve those things, all the little moments in life that we take for granted.

I think that's really why I keep coming back to it. Photographs give us a way to remember moments that may not be as impactful in the moment. Years from now, we might not remember exactly what a day felt like, what someone was wearing, or what was happening around us. But then we find an old photograph, and suddenly we're back there, we remember all the feelings of that day again.

That's what I want my photography to do. I want my photographs to feel real. I want them to capture the little moments, the genuine emotions, and the things that made a day or a person special.

I'm still figuring out exactly where photography will take me, and honestly, I think that's part of the fun. There is always something new to learn, something new to photograph, and another way to see things. I'm also learning to trust in god and i may not know the future but he has a plan and will guide me there.

So, that's what this blog is going to be about. Photography, the stories behind my photographs, things I'm learning, places I'm exploring, how god is guiding me, and the little moments that make me want to pick up my camera.

I'm excited to share more of my work with you and to see where this takes me.

Thanks for being here!
